New Year, Same Wardrobe

New Year, Same Wardrobe

You may have noticed that Micro-Closet took a break recently.  Neither Hilary nor I have posted in a couple of months.  While Hilary has been on maternity leave, I have been uninspired.  It’s been a combination of the weather and work that has led to this period of silence.  My goal has been simply to survive, to get from day to day, outfit to outfit, trial to trial.

Not keen on winter attire.  Anyone else? Vintage coat, Shein shirt, Boden skirt

I wake up in the morning, look at the grey slush and ice on the streets, and instinctively grab for either pants or a knit dress with leggings, both of which I pair with thick socks and snow boots.  On my days off I wear exclusively leggings and sweatshirts.  There is nothing fashionable about my wardrobe these days; it is purely functional.  Anyone else?

Now that we have rung in the New Year I could make some sort of resolution about dressing creatively, but let’s face it, that would be just as realistic as every other new year’s resolution out there.  I will not resolve to wear something new clothing combination every day, or change into heels before each court hearing, or play around with accessories and makeup on the weekends.  I think I’d have a better chance winning the lottery than adhering to something so non-essential.

I hoofed it from my place to court and did not both changing my shoes before the hearing.  Take that 2018!

So I will continue in survival mode, likely until the spring J. Crew catalog arrives at my doorstep, attempting to pair my snow boots with my work attire and praying for inspiration.  My goal, which has nothing to do with the New Year, is to return to creating content on a regular basis for this blog.  What started off as a fun hobby to keep the Freund sisters engaged became an essential outlet for me, allowing me to disengage from work.  I might be momentarily uninspired but I still have a lot to say.
