Spring Feeling

Spring is here! Hitting the spring equinox doesn't mean much in Northern Idaho (we get snow showers into May) but just knowing that the days are growing longer and driving home from work while it's still light out has done wonders for my mood.
Every year at this time, I tell myself that my wardrobe is sufficient, I don't need anything new. But each spring arrives and I yearn for a little color, something fresh to add to my micro-closet. This spring I've been drawn to Boden, a British brand known for
Putting my best, and brightest, foot forward
When I shopped over the winter, I was drawn to neutral, dark colors. But as the days lengthen, I found myself looking at brighter colors. Last month, in anticipation of spring, yellow pieces stood out to me. Luckily for me, yellow seems to be a popular color this spring. Every designer and store, including Boden, has multiple yellow pieces in their spring collection.
Navy blazer and gold accents pull this outfit together
I chose this yellow shift dress for its bright yellow-green color and versatility. I can dress it up with a blazer and heels for work or pair it with a denim jacket and sandals for a casual outing. Today I topped it with my J. Crew school boy blazer and gold jewelry. I originally envisioned accessorizing this dress with a silver statement necklace, but the blazer has gold buttons, and I wanted a coordinated, pulled together look. However, I plan to pair it with some silver accessories the next time I wear it.
Striding into spring
If anyone is looking for a bright staple to add to her wardrobe, I recommend this dress. It is made of a thick, structured material and has pockets! If you don’t like yellow, it does come in a variety of other colors. And it has pockets!
